“My live action short film Pick Up is a story that shows the struggles faced by a college student, specifically in the face of grief.”
Having experienced the non linear path of grief, I’m aware of how many people experience different forms of this emotion. This project was inspired by many conversations I encountered from fellow students, each having a unique story in relation to forms of loss.
It became evident to me how difficult balancing education and life’s hardships can be for any individual. When writing, directing and editing it was my intention to create something thought-provoking, sharing a simple story in the hope that the feelings portrayed would resonate with others.
